Unless they decide to somehow integrate Original Color Magearna and AZ's Floette with 2018's movie, they should have an entirely new mythical in USUM even if Gen 8 comes next year.
The only reason they could distribute Magearna in 2016 (before SM) with a QR code that only became useful several months after the movie aired is because the same movie also gave everyone a Volcanion for XY/ORAS.
