Why the hell is Heliolisk part normal type? Would you have preferred it if it were only electric even though we've had plenty of those before?

Even though I like that Helioptile and Heliolisk are Electric/Normal, in this case, I think Electric/Dragon fits more. After all Heliolisk's Japanese name is Elezard.

But either typing is better than pure Electric, one of the most commonly used pure typings in the game.

It doesn't generate its own electricity like other electric types. It's just a lizard with the ability to convert sunlight into electricity.

This also makes sense. Just look at all pure Electric types. They're all mentioned at being able to directly absorb from power lines/power plants (Pikaclones, Voltorb, Xurkitree), able to generate on their own (Raikou, Manectric, and I think Luxray), or directly absorb lightning (Zebstrika) and usually have lightning bolts or plus/minus signs that scream

I have no evidence whatsoever but it seems that normal type pokemon are only moving down on the type hierarchy/scale
I just feel that many normal types are just gimmick pokemon. we need more normal pokemon powerhouses
at least bring back inverse battles so normal are relevant again

I always thought heliolisk was incomplete. Like it was a mid evo. Then mega evolution came in and i thought ok, the next XY games will obviously give the Kalos pokemon megas. But....... now we got z-moves

It's one of those Pokemon that's "almost" good, but it has 1 or 2 flaws that really hold it back.

It's a Normal type because, around Gen 6, GF realized they should start making Normal into a proper typing.

Yeah, how many Normal types did we even have with a non-Flying secondary typing prior to Gen 6? Girafarig Bibarel Deerling Sawsbuck and Meloetta? Woopie, five out of 649 at the time.
