Japanese Pokemon has a lot of extremely forgettable OPs. That's not to say the dub doesn't, but there are only like three Japanese themes that really stand out to me (one of which only because of the amazing instrumental version).

I remember when I first saw this opening and the first few episodes were one of the first hints of gen 4. It was even more mysterious because they edited the opening soon after and removed those parts.

Johto's openings are so much better than the Johto saga itself. The openings make Johto look like its this great saga with lots of adventure, humor and the original trio....and then you watch it and remember it's that painful filler fest where nothing really happens, Misty is bland as all hell, Ash's Johto pokemon are handled poorly, etc
