They love fossil pokemon, are pretty nerdy overall, disproportionate amount have either a fossil-mon or part of the Tyranitar line (usually actual Tyranitar, but Larvitar has some fans) as their favorite.

A lot of rockfags want a little more variety in their polkemon too. They're often the guys hoping for, like, 100 new pokemon every gen in hopes that at least one of them will be something not done very often, like a fast rock, or a special rock with actual special attacks. Because if you have a lot of psace, once you get the "Regional Geodude equivalent" or "regional Onix equivalent" out of the way you have more space for untested waters.
