Really tho, why erase kris and make a completely different character for a remake? I'm not a Krisfag or anything close, but it feels kinda sad to think about. There was no reason for it, they could have just redesign her just like ethan.

Also, as much as I hate to admit it (and hell do I hate to), it's true, she's not canon and her existense would be in conflict with red's as they both are seemingly the same, at least in-game.

Who knows? She has an unused pokegear icon still in the game so they were going to put her in originally. When asked why Kris wasn't in the remake they said it was because it's a remake of GS and not Crystal but that's obviously bullshit since they were planning on including her. I doubt we'll ever know the real reason. My best guess is that Lyra was originally designed just to be an npc for the daycare or something but then they decided to make her a protag at the last minute.

Alternate universes are a thing. If you played as her she's canon.

The fucking difference here is Leaf cannot be canon BECAUSE Red appeared in later games. In most games only one protagonist is ever present. If Red exists, she cannot.

This, leaf and red are parallels to each other. In the sense they are the same person but just an alternate version via gender. Red lives in the canon verse, leaf does not. That's why you often see leaf compared to red and not blue, because she was meant to be the female red, but red is already canon enough so they never had the need to introduce her as a individual trainer. She and red are essentially blank sheets, but red is more popular

Literally will never happen. Leaf was only created to give fat waifu'ing neckbeards like yourself and girls a character to play instead of Red. He is the canon protagonist and she is not. They do not stand to profit from shilling her, where as Red is a mascot and cashcow. She will never ever be seen again save for being another gender option if/when they ever remake Kanto again.
