Team consists mostly of disgruntled ex-Pokemon breeders who run the equivalent of a puppy mill on a grand scale, their members capture or purchase rare Pokemon from all over the world, breed them en masse, and sell them to unsuspecting trainers. Player will be given the opportunity to buy from their agents at several points in the game, but Pokemon obtained in this way are guaranteed to have awful IVs.
Team is based in Sinnoh but travels all over the world due to their modus operandi, the player fights them at least once in a ferry from another region that is intended to bring in exotic Pokemon. While they hide their more distasteful activities from the public, they're mostly on the good side of the law, but this changes when they try to capture a Manaphy and turn it into a Phione factory (a prospect so lucrative that they're willing to take big risks for it).
Their leader uses Pokemon associated with eggs and breeding: Ditto (with Imposter if you really want to be mean about it), Fletchinder/Talonflame, Chansey/Blissey, Rotom, and an ace Togetic/Togekiss. Team members similarly focus on Pokemon with Magma Armor/Flame Body, Smeargle (always male, for obvious reasons), baby Pokemon lines and a smattering of rare Pokemon from each region. Egg moves are common even for vanilla grunts.
Admins are shrewd but a spoiled aristocrat who funds the team in exchange for her personal pick of the litter (Swirlix/Klefki/Igglybuff lines), an ex-Rocket employee who just wants a clean slate and is the first to ditch the team once they go off the deep end (Zubat/Rattata/Budew lines), a no-nonsense veterinarian who has grown jaded after years of shit she's seen and just goes with the team because they pay well (Slowpoke/Audino/Chingling lines), and a slightly off-her-rocker ferry captain who believes that seeding other regions with invasive species will benefit them through natural selection (Corphish/Tentacool/Mantyke lines).
