>>33958469My issue with Salazzle isn't even the waifu side of it, because the harem thing is rooted in real world lizard ecology. A lot of it is, to me, how Salandit looks complete in itself and the robber aesthetic isn't carried over into its evolution. I feel like the markings and the tassles on its back add nothing to its design and its hands look awkward and too splayed. I also miss the handprint thing from Salandit's back, which I guess kind of makes sense because the idea is it's been "branded" by Salazzle, but meh.
Generally I don't like humanshape Pokemon and I also like bugs to resemble real world bugs, so it was kind of inevitable me hating these. I don't even think of their bipedalism as inexplicable in the way I do with a lot of other Pokemon, it's just not subtle to me the way they've appropriated human anatomy to insects. Plus I think they're a waste of the long awaited cockroach and mosquito Pokemon, and I doubt GF will reuse these concepts.
With Crabominable, I like how its pincers are like punching mitts as opposed to boxing gloves, but I find its body shape awkward, its expression is goofy, I think it should have more obvious crab mandibles than a toothy humanoid grin. Plus, I think its a waste of the yeti crab concept, would've worked better as a parallel of Crabrawler, like Oranguru vs. Passimian
