Clair was a snobby, self-centered bitch that similarly threw a fit when you won, making you go on a pointless quest to a prove you're "worthy" of getting the Badge you already fucking won when you beat her in a Gym Battle. Neither of these characters are likable for their actual character or personality - if you just find them sexually attractive, fine, but don't pretend they were good characters.
