Without knowing how Team Rocket will change the story in USUM at this point:
Red: Took down a gang
Ethan/Lyra: Took down gang's remnants
Brendan/May: Stopped weather monsters from flooding or scorching the Hoenn region
Lucas/Dawn: Stopped a guy from literally remaking the world
Hilda/Hilbert: Stopped someone from releasing all Pokemon and declaring himself king.
Nate/Rosa: Stopped the same guy's plans again, but now he had a warship.
Calem/Serena: Stopped someone from destroying Kalos
Sun/Moon: Saved Nebby and stopped an invasive species.

Gen IV probably had the most sweeping issues worldwide, followed closely by Gen VI and the super weapon. Gen III weather changes would eventually overtake the world if not stopped, but I would hope Rayquaza would have woken up at some point to fix it, even without trainer interaction. Gen V was more of a regional thing, and who's to say Pokemon and people wouldn't still get along after being released from Pokeballs? Rocket was small time compared to those groups. They just took over Pokemon versions of Osaka and Tokyo.

In Unova, they said that taking over Unova would eventually change the whole world into Pokemon being released so the king thing would also eventually be worldwide.

Also the Ultimate Weapon in Kalos didn't wipe out all life in the region but also the entire planet.
