Field phase feels kind of pointless right now since people always rush into the duel phase as soon as possible anyway, where all of the most complex/fun/powerful combos are done. Having tinkered around with the whole cast I also have to say the field movesets feel way too samey overall. Homing attack, generic range attack, side range attack, aerial range attack, divekick. Bam, I just described pretty much all of the casts field phase options. If they ever decide to make a sequel I'd like to see a duel phase only mode just to see how it would work out.
