I'm still not convinced. This entire generation has felt like cheap fanservice and pandering. At best I think I'm just going to pirate these games. But I doubt I have the strength to go through the same thing I had to go through in S/M with even more dialogue.

I'm convinced when it comes to the content. The region and story are still dead to me though, but if I can ignore how lame they both seem I think I'll have fun

it happens when the games stop feeling like they appeal to everyone and every new game only appeals to hslf the fanbase at a time.

It's why the Zelda and Mario fanbases arent like this despite being around just as long. All the games are good and they generally like them all

there is no 3D mario that is hated by even 10% of the fanbase. Except contention over if Sunshine or 3D World is better I guess

The closest I can think of in regards to Zelda is people who hate TP and Skyward Sword, but even that doesnt feel close to just how split down the middle the pokemon fanbase has become since Gen 6
