Ghetsis will use Mega Evolution though it wasnt in his universe. However, no pokemom in his known team has a mega evolution. Weird

He only has a team of 5 in USUM, so the team's going to be switched up regardless. Hydreigon was shown using a move in trailers without evolving so it likely does not have one.

it's not, we saw it use dragon pulse in the Jap trailer. NPCs always mega evo immediately.

Proof? In the trailers only Giovanni and Lysandre used it, and they're the only ones from the mega timeline

Both are available in Unova I think? So either one would be fitting. I'd lean more towards Mega Tyranitar to fit him, since Colress would probably use Mega Metagross.

Would it work if the villains use the legendary of their gen that is the opposite of the legendary available of the game you own? So for example, if you have Ultra Sun, you'd be facing off against Zekrom in his team instead of Reshiram?

Read the pokedex entries. Mega pokemon are insane and extremely violent like mega lucario in the anime. The strong bond probably just calms them down a bit.
Really it kind of fits the villains to have crazy berserk pokemon like that.

Some leaker said Giovanni was from the same world USUM takes place, and that he got the other guys from other worlds through wormholes
I think it was the G C# leaker who said that so unlike the rest of the RR leaks this is not confirmed

Where's my Mega Flygon, Masuda? You've skipped it twice, now. You also have yet to give Hydreigon a Mega to try and help it after introducing Fairies nearly killed it off. There is a plethora of Pokemon that would kill to get the Mega treatment and a new lease on life.

Metagross is Steven's Ace. I might be wrong, but they would not give a champion's mega to a villain.

Tyranitar or Gengar could work, but it would be a big disappointment. I doubt we are getting the Original Dragon, but they could at least come up with a new mega for him.

Cyrus was also shown using normal Houndoom, and that's what everyone seems to think will be his mega.
If Gamefreak decided to not show certain or new megas in the trailer, it would take no effort.
