I know psychic types are super effective against ghosts because the programmers fucked up, but is there an in-universe explanation?

Ghosts were supposed to be effective against psychic types. That Sabrina episode was written before they noticed the programmers fucked up.

The fuckup was making Psychic-types immune to Ghost moves, not making Psychic moves super-effective on Ghost-types. It was only super-effective because all of the Ghost-types in gen I are part Poison.

Paychic isn’t super effective against ghosts. It does neutral damage. Ghastly, Haunter and Gengar are ghost/poison type, and thus have the 2x weakness to psychic stemming from their poison type.

I assume this is bait though.
