This is also ignoring the 3DS' god-awful resolution, stretching the textures onto polygons that big would be a complete mess. By having all the Pokemon adhere to the same scale they're able to give them each the proper amount of detail. Otherwise the giant ones would be a mess and the tiny ones would be impossible to see in battle unless you had the camera switching between being zoomed all the way out for the big Pokemon and zoomed all the way in for the little Pokemon, which would just become annoying after a while.
It'd be great to see it on the Switch but wanting and expecting that on the 3DS is retarded. Educate yourself and learn to temper your expectations.
