His sickly, aged appearance coupled with that abomination he calls a hairstyle really doesn't help his case. Though I'd likely assume it has to do with people simply comparing him to Archie, only to find him the more "masculine" of the two, thus leading to Maxie's issue. ORAS only exasperated this.
