>>34038153Only Mythical Pokemon like Marshadow will take slots above 402. Everything else, including existing Pokemon and whatever new UBs are announced, will take the first 401 slots.
401 - 177 confirmed slots - 10 for UBs - 4 for Cosmog - 1 for Necrozma - 4 for Tapu - 140 Pokemon confirmed in dex since they were in SM's Alola Dex - at least 14 old Pokemon confirmed to be in the expanded Alola dex that don't have assigned numbers yet = 51 unaccounted for slots
That's it. 51 slots that will be assigned to older Pokemon. And from that we can eliminate some of those slots already:
- Ralts family (Gardevoir + Gallade have Megas) = 4
- Aron family (Aggron has Mega) = 3
- Meditite family (Medicham has Mega) = 2
- Shuppet family (Banette has Mega) = 2
- Snover family (Abomasnow has Mega) = 2
- Beedrill family (Weedle has Mega) = 3
- Pidgey family (Pidgeot has Mega) = 3
- Onix family (Steelix has Mega) = 2
- Numel family (Camerupt has Mega) = 2
That's 23 in total.
I'm excluding stuff such as starters that will be available through Island Scan, and Mythical/Legendary Pokemon that won't be included in the Alola dex for balance.
So 51 - 23 = 28. 28 slots for other Pokemon, including any new mons. That's not a lot. And many of those slots will be taken over. (Even if Zygarde isn't in the new Alola dex, it will just be 29 unaccounted for slots.)
Those 29 remaining slots are precious. If new Pokemon exist, they better have unique niches and roles in the game, instead of being a slightly better Bastiodon or an altered Chandelure.
Some people may like clone Pokemon but I sure as hell don't.
