I used Decidueye and I can't decide now between the other two. None of the starters are that appealing this gen for me.

Off topic, how dumb is it Rufflet/Vullaby evolve at 54? And on the same route they're found, you can get a Bagon that calls fucking Salamence but the birds don't call their evos which makes way more sense, in my opinion.

It is dumb; gen 5's level scaling was absurd and certain Pokemon got absolutely dicked in the early-to-midgame viability department for later gens, e.g., those two birds, Pawniard, Mienfoo, even Larvesta if you don't count that as like a pseudo-pseudolegendary or whatever.

I actually used a Rufflet in Sun. It could be pretty painful to train but at least it has a decent attack stat. Funnily enough it evolved right after I needed it most, after beating Hala in the E4.

Probably not. I'm looking for a more challenging run and Primarina clearly dominated against almost every crucial fight, bar the Lurantis. Decidueye seems to give a bit more difficulty.

I'm gonna make sure that Rowlet befriends some Alolan native Pokemon this time, not just older Pokemon like last time (as my last team consisted of Arcanine, Gyarados, Magnezone, and Metagross... all older Pokemon).
