One of Gen 8s gimmicks will be "tactical reactions" which can be seen as apaptable advanced abilities.
Mons can be trained to auto-react on certain events in battle but only once per mon and per battle.
Each mon has a random tactical reactions by default. It can be changed freely by ingame events.
Events that trigger reactions can be weather changes, when the opposing mon lives on one HP, when the opponent double-switches, when the mon gets roared out, when the mon comes in as the last surviving member of the party, when the mon gets trapped or gets hurt by stuff like Rocky Helmet and many many more.
Reactions can be stat boosts, additional hits similar to Parental Bond, slight recovery, Emergency Exit stuff, gaining levitate state, auto-Defog, skipping recharging turns, disabling opponent's abilities and many many more.
Not all reactions can be mapped to all events.
No need to screencap this.
