We didn't want to be right. Deep in our hearts we thought that Gamefreak would pull through. That there was no way that they would let people down again. But we were right.

We got new Pokemon, an improved story, fights against all the team leaders, the battle factory (albeit gimped and forced into the shitfest that is Festival Plaza), increased dex, improved graphics... I wouldn't call this nothing

battles will still run like ass though.
While it certainly isn't nothing, it's mostly shit. The only okay things are the new pokes but they don't warrant a 40 dollar purchase.
These are the only pokemon games I won't buy. I really wanted them to be good, today seemed promising when I saw how they cut down on the cutscenes for the first few minutes of the game, but it seems they didn't listen to anything else of what fans wanted.

The opposite. A LOT of the stupid "stop you every 5 seconds to talk" cutscenes have been weeded out.

Which confirms they think they are overwhelming people, and are trying to make it easier to complete a dex by only having the regional dex, plus this means they don't have to recycle old dex entries anymore just due to the sheer number

Fair enough, I was just frustrated with people saying it is literally nothing. Saying it's shit still means saying they did add something
