Why do peopl always clamor for PWT when Frontier (whether it be Hoenn or Sinnoh/Johto's) is the far superior choice since it actually provides significant gameplay differences?

Because PWT would have literally been perfect for Gen 7, what with the whole 20th anniversary "IT ALL CUMS TOGETHER" bullshit advertisement that plagued its entire run. PWT was truly a feature that was ahead of its time.

It was nostalgiabait done right though. A true celebration of the franchise up to that point. Meanwhile, the 3ds games have been full of nothing but Kanto pandering for the most part.

Battle spot free battle is all dumbass kids who are piss easy to beat and ranked is all the same Pokemon. Smogon is mostly done on Showdown. Facilities are my only excuse to use things like Magmortor even if they won't go that far outside the battle hall (which I mainly want back for that reason)

When most of the significant gameplay differences are heavily luck based, I rather have something like the PWT.

The only Battle Frontier facilities I actually enjoyed are the BattleTower, Battle Factory and maybe the Battle Pyramid desu.

Just to name a few that aren't luck-based. In fact, Arcade almost always goes in your favor if you're good at the roulette. All of the Gen IV facilities offer something new without resorting to heavy RNG.

Admittedly, I didn't really play Gen IV's Battle Frontier, so I can't say much about it. Always had Gen III's Frontier in mind.

See, I can do the same bullshit too, and you sound more like a cunt anyways so why the fuck should your word matter? I don't fucking care if you think it's shit, it would literally have been better than the Kanto pandering we've been getting for the entirety of the 3ds era.
Also, none of the stupid facilities we have already add nothing new to the table either. Infact, who fucking cares about "adding something new to the table" as long as the content in question is enjoyable.

That said, while I don't hate the Battle Dome, I never really understood its purpose. It's just battling but in a Tournament style form, so the Tower was superior imo. Though I do really like the Pokemon World Tournament even though it has the same formula as the Dome. The nostalgia that comes with fighting the Gym Leaders/Champions really makes the grind for BP a fun thing to do. Sometimes, I would just do it without any reason other than to have fun. The PWT is the only facility that achieved this for me so far, though the Battle Tree comes close for similar reasons.

I'm hyped for RR too you faggot, but the problem with it is that it's a one and done type deal, not infinitely replayable like the PWT. Once you complete it, that's it, unless you restart your whole fucking game. The least they couldve done is have all the bosses as scoutable partners in the Battle Tree, even if that would screw with any sense of believability(only Giovanni makes an appearance).

Why though? You're getting a small story where the 6 villains talk, battle, and fuck off. At least the PWT offered more characters, rematches and the ability to earn Battle Points, along with featuring a tournament-style setup.
