Honestly may be the worst treated starter in recent memory

But to be fair, you COULD make the argument that Incineroar is such a basic Pokemon that there are already several basic attacks it could use easily, whereas Decidueye is unique and thus harder to optimize with existing assets

Being versatile =\= being basic, in fact Incineroar suffers from 4 move slot syndrom now because of all the good moves that have different purpose on its moveset.
Also Decidueye was treated like any Grass type would, plus the bird things, the only thing I’m surprised it missed was Low Kick.

I chose Decuideye on my first playthrough

I hated the stupid fucking thing. Couldn't take a hit and would always hit back for 80-90% so one of my other mons would have to finish the job.

Swapped it out near endgame for Ninetales

Owl was the best bet of being the gen 7 shillmon, and my opinion is that it still is. It’a not like Primarina or Incineroar where it ends up radically offending the fans of its base form.

That being said, I don’t really care for any of the starters this gen, so I’ll be using another shillmon for US: Blaziken
