Yes it did. Very very limited though. DQ9 and Solatorobo(EU) are the most well known examples.

Now what i'm going to say doesn't apply to Plat but BW, but still:

BW were DSi enhanced games too, that opened up more possibilities for them what with making PWT and stuff DLC for them instead of a whole new game like BW2, but it wasn't done of course.

DS games didn't have real DLC. They can be unlocked with save editors.

And no BW2 couldn't have been DLC because it's a sequel. The entire game is different.

The only one that I would consider worth it is Platinum, but that is because of the speed and pokedex of Diamond and Pearl is just ass.
And even then, I wouldn't buy Platinum unless you didn't pick up Diamond amd Pearl.

Yellow was cool in its day, though inferior to its predecessors.
I never really played Crystal.
Emerald was awesome.
Platinum was fucking awesome.
And I haven't played past Gen V so I have no opinion for UltraDerp.

Unfortunately, they are not. Easily the worst third version ever, before even taking into account that there are 2 of them for no good reason. Polished up SM, but no serious improvements. It's basically the same exact game.

Color. COLOR! Pikachu's overworld sprite can interact with player. All starters are available via new plot points put into the game. Gym leaders now reflect the anime's gym leaders. Modest additions, sure, but welcome ones. 9/10 rare candies.

Updated moving sprites. Nothing too impressive, and not worth the purchase if you already had Gold or Silver, but it makes Crystal the superior version of Gen II. 8/10 berries.
