They've already dropped regional forms without a doubt since we didn't even get any new ones for USUM. I'm fine with Z crystals and UBs disappearing for good though.
Too bad next gen will have some stupid shit gimmick that's inherently worse than Z-moves.

I actually hope they drop UBs, Z crystals, and Megas for the next game, the switch to switch might be a good enough excuse to drop all the bloat they accumulated during the 3DS games. Since as it stands there are so many arbitrary mechanics that only effect a few specific things and its all become rather messy.

Actually, they said that the reason they didn't add any was because "it wouldn't make sense since we're still in Alola". So presumably they're going to be in the Switch game.

That's better than Mega Evolutions meaning Banette and others will never actually get a proper evolution, and Z-Crystals that just made easy games even easier, or regional forms that were just old pokemon being hit by the ugly stick and were so few in number that it was entirely fucking pointless that they even did it in the first place. It was only done to get palm tree Eggsecutors, which they should have just done by giving Eggsecutor a new evolution through the sun stone.

Lazy excuse for either scrapping the ideas or not putting in any effort into them at all. There are supposedly more pokemon showing up in Alola that weren't there before in SM. Any pokemon who wasn't catchable in SM would have been a candidate to get an Alolan form.

UBs look like trash. If they were going for something Kingian, Lovecraftian, or otherwise alien, they failed miserably.
