I scanned the Pikachu QR code but, does anyone know where to get the gift? Didn't see the pokemon center guy so I'm assuming I can get it somewhere else

Didn't need to connect it was just a QR code in the island scan.

Again, I have both a new 3DS and an old 3DS, so whatever happens with the old one doesn't matter

The Island Scan won't help you here. It's only there to add Pokémon to your dex as seen.

I can't tell which of you are b8ing and which of you are genuinely retarded. On the off chance someone comes here with the same question and is confused by all the retardation, you scan the QR code with the QR scanner and talk to the guy at Pikachu Valley on Route 4 to get the Pikachu. You don't need to go online, it's not a Mystery Gift. It's hardcoded into the game like the Magearna in SM.
