In SM Cosmog can be found on the Lake of the Sunne/Moone and Necrozma on Ten Carat Hill. All areas on "our" version of PokeEarth, but those pokemon still come from Ultra Space.

So what do you classify these things? And how do you know if Medicham or Drapion didn't come from Ultra Space a long time ago as well?

Honestly the term Ultra Beast is too loose and misleading.

They don't literally "live" in Ultra Space, they have their own native universes (which is accessible from Ultra Space) with their own habitat and respective niches.

The Cosmog family and Necrozma are unique exceptions because they can freely travel between universes and have come to rely on them for part of their lifecycle.

Solgaleo and Lunala breed in normal space, and Necrozma could be native to whatever world Ultra Megalopolis used to be (though it's hard to tell since its powers bleeds through dimensions, etc.)

I guess you could compare them to penguins in the sense that they're born on solid land but they spend most of their lives in the open sea (in this case, Ultra Space). Depends on your interpretation I suppose.
