Ok.
USUM sucks.
And that is EXCELLENT.
And I'll tell ya why.

So the Pokemon company confirmed that the USUM games would be helmed by the younger staff at game freak, kind of how Disney let its newer animators handle the straight-to-bus sequels of things like Aladdin. And yah, suprise, Jafar's return is just as shitty as USUM.

USUM contains no real new material, and all of its "cool" aspects like rainbow rocket and new UB's are just the video game equivalent to clickbait. They're not new games, they're just re-skinned.

So why is this good?

Because while the younger guys were hard at work letting us pay for their on-the-job training, the big bad bitches of game freak have been hard at work on Pokemon switch.

Pokemon switch must have begun development right after original sun/moon releases, as that's how game freak always is, and if they took a two year development cycle (which was needed for black-white to x-y) that means Pokemon switch is on its way to us by even holiday next year! So yah USUM sucks, but it's this placeholder game that's going to fund the switch one. So please buy USUM, and if they ruin the switch version, THEN we can get witch hunting.
