>>34099160Pretty much. USUM is the enhanced versions of SM, that was it was meant to be and honestly, it did its job well. The new look of the games is great, the expanded pokedex and completely new pokemon are great, some of the gameplay changes are for the better and the competitive scene gets an upgrade. The story changes are also fun.
However, the bulk of the games are still too similar to SM and the changes do not justify dual versions and a full price tag. Emerald and Platinum are good games looking back ten years later when this kind of practice was more accepted, but USUM, in today's time, should have had more significant departures to make them stand apart more as separate games worth the time and money.
The developers stated in an interview that they may move to DLC in the future, I also think it's a good idea to leave the practice of enhanced versions behind.
