>>34101715Coming from someone who had this game as a seven year old in 1999, I remember getting defeated by Brock dozens and dozens of times before beating him. I had a Pikachu somewhere around level 15 and a very weak Caterpie. I literally just quick attacked them until eventually I got lucky and Pikachu didn't get fucked. Might seem like a joke now but back in the day as a dumb kid that didn't fully grasp the game's concepts Brock was a massive hurdle.
Getting through the dark cave without flash, the ghost at the top of lavender tower(I eventually "solved" it by using a poke doll which I had no idea was a mistake in programming), and beating the elite four were also aids hard for me.
