Cynthia's champion room has been upgraded to full 3D. We'll probably get Gen 4 remake (DP not Platinum) after the first Gen 8 games

most likely on a console (aka the switch) that cant play the original there wasnt much need for a remake on 3ds since it still supports DS

The models used in the tcg aren't the same as the ones used in the games. Besides, it shouldn't be hard to model something like that just for the card, anyway.

But I agree it's weird the next set is focusing on gen 4.

The fact that they're doing a Sinnoh set now of all times is not good news for remakes, it's going to be Z version all over again. Game Freak has been obsessed with breaking expectations the past few gens, maybe remakes are done for now.

Gen 8 is coming first, 2018 at the earliest, with 2019 now looking more likely. After that, we could get either a third version or right into DP remakes. Either way, I can't see DP remakes coming any time before 2020. EX Unseen Forces came 4 years before HGSS, there'd be at least 3 years between this and any potential DP remakes.
