I loved a lot of dungeons being optional but I wish the pacing was faster. playing platinum again made me just want to play HGSS again. I like fast paced main games but slow paced aftergames when it comes to pokemon

the music trumpet memes aside gave gen 3 a very grandiose feel. It really felt you were going on an adventure towards the unknown finding all sorts of treasures and legends. And the fact that in emerald the legendaries were hidden they felt like a reward for exploration.

I want to defend Pokemon but you're right. They're literally just adding 4 pokemon and 1 Z-Move that should have been in the main game. This is a ripoff and one last tragedy for the handheld series before the series hits the switch and hits record lows in sales.
