Also in XY the cave where you find Moltres/Zapdos/Articuno is called (in japanese) "Watatsumi's Den", a reference of Lugia being the master of the birds

No, in the games Diancie is just a mutated Carbink. The idea of one ruling over an entire underground kingdom of them was only in the anime.

that's all the pokedex said about diancie prior to gen 7

carbink's old pokedex entries don't mention anything about diancie either, the movie was the first time diancie was treated like a princess and then the games just went with it
