Just admit that you've outgrown the series and move on. Game Freak does not have to meet your expectations because even their bare minimum is a guaranteed success.
>Online battling is your post-gameValid. Breeding and competitive battling was the highlight of XY once the main story was over. I personally dedicated over 1400 hours into online battling. It's been the same for every game after XY.
>Story is contentValid. Unless you're saying that Delta Emereald doesn't count as new content even though it introduced a new story segment post-game.
>You're going to buy it anywayValid. Critics still purchase or pirate games they hate. It's the same phenomenon whereby women continue to tolerate abusive relationships. This says more about the psychology of the critics.
