I also love how amazing the new Z-Moves are, really gave some Pokemon way more uses than they had before. Not only that but they reducing everything being so linear, added actual challenge to the games (most trainers now have up to 4 and 5 Pokemon now, special trainers guaranteed 6 + Z-Moves/megas) and of course an option to skip Z-Move animations and cutscenes. While the 10 new megas are not that noticable as they are mostly for starters, you can sitll see that Gamefreak cares about previous features.
