People are saying it's shit/worse than its predecessor the Battle Factory. Why? Genuine question as I haven't played USUM and don't know what differences there are.

Don’t know about being worse than Factory, but the Factory was the worst part of the Battle Frontier. Most people are disappointed we only got that and not any other facilities.

Factory was picking three of six mons, then an option to swap one mon for something you just defeated.

Agency is get two random mons, pick one of three, and neither your choices nor opponent change until you win.

The agency's single unique feature is that you eventually unlock random weather/terrain that's set before the fight. I haven't checked whether it is permanent or 5 turns.

completely fasle, your unlock a Special place in the plaza where you exchange festival coin to rotate the teams, they tell you that specifically when you unlock weather mode.
So no your are not forced to play with the same mon over and over.

To add more i don't remember anything in the battle frontier that i absolutely want to replay, the battle tree is the normal mode but with special trainer, the battle royale is it's own thing, and the rental mode + random effect is basically 1,5 facilities in one.
We are not realy missing anything people just love to complain

Yes they are underleved because you can't go online.

The gimmick of the facilities is the help of other people, and usually you are online in the plaza.

People are making quick jugement and probably don't even know what they are talking about.

The steetpass in pokemon in gen 7 is the passeby that are gathered once you connect to the internet.
100 people + VIP + local people around you.

There is no streetpass function like other 3DS games.(aka walk in real life and connect with people)

That version is even worse. You're going to have a bunch of lvl 70+ pokemon as your partners when you're starting out. The only time the facility would be balanced is launch week.

So the facility is completely reliant on online and will be useless when the Switch games come out. You're also not rewarded by getting to swap in Pokemon you defeated, but simply have to luck out. Also you're railroaded into 2/3rds of your team without any options. And there's a leveling aspect which detracts from the skill-based nature.

This whole thing is a fucking shitshow. I can't believe you're defending it.

Pyramid with its randomized overworld aspect offers further variety not available otherwise. The Pokemon you fight is varied in any facility, and you have much more freedom setting up the Pokemon you use yourself than relying on subpar rentals with awful sets.

You at grade 0 -> Rent level 50 and battle against level 50
You at grade 10 -> Rent level 60 and battle against level 60

The problem is that the two pity partners they give you are always grade 0(level 50)

they're definitely NPCs. I didn't connect my sun online because I didn't realise that could activate online missions, so I was just doing plaza stuff with whatever I got daily and I never seemed to run out.
Was very slow collecting FC that way though, 10 a day if you're lucky just from talking to the NPCs. The missions get boring very quickly, so it's easier to just remember to run around and talk to the purple people once a day.

You can't change them right now because you can't take the games online. You're supposed to ask human players to act as your partners, but get stuck with two randomized NPCs if you don't.
