Third person controllable camera and no lag in battles mainly.
I remember an interview that mentioned how having the game on a console will make them think of things or the whole family so I'm expecting some kind of single screen 2 player mode, at least a mini game.

Easy access to more powerful hold items (life orb, assvest, etc.) earlier, give more trainers hold items to compensate.

It seems like a small thing but this would add a fun layer of challenge. Hold items add a suprising amount of depth.

Instead of having HMs and PokeRides, you can trade berries with wild Pokemon so they'll help you smash a rock, move a boulder, cut down a shrub, surf across water, etc...

You press A on an obstacle and you'll be asked if you want to lure a wild Pokemon to assist you. A wild Pokemon will appear, and you'll offer a trade with it (e.g. I'll give you this Oran Berry if you chew down this shrub for me).

Each island will need to have markets/people that sell berries before obstacles. Each kind of obstacle requires a different kind of berry.

How about a game set in a period before the pokeball was invented? Not pokemon centers, so you'll need to use food to heal your pokemon. Money can be used to buy food and items. Teams don't really exist, you just have pokemon companions. Every counter is like the safari zone, where it only has a chance of actually becoming a partner pokemon that you can use in battle. If a pokemon faints in battle, it revives after 1 hour naturally, or with an expensive food. Routes are massive and the region is undeveloped in terms of civilisation.

Difficulty is maximized this way.

Moves can be set to button sensitive commands or left to cursor in options or on the fly. Buttons can also be configured to the user's preference.

What I want is all minigames/mechanics introduced so far, interspersed into the WHOLE map, and not just concentrated in a single area. For example; one city has Normal-ranked Contest Hall, route next to it has a Bug-Catching contest, then next city has a Pokeathlon building, the route next it has a hidden area you can unlock post game that contains a Frontier building.

Just somethings that can distract you or compel you to go explore the world outside of catching Pokemon, especially post-game, instead of just "I use Fly to go this City" everytime.

Also make the story more subtle I guess, like I mean it's there but not in you're face like Gen 1/2 and to a lesser extent Gen 3/4

They should use wormholes as a way to incorporate online/offline multiplayer. Have someone come visit you in the overworked and help you with the game. When such a thing happens, the game gets super hard, but you get rewarded with more shit.

When you select three to five Pokemon horizontally in a box and try to add them to your active team, but it won't let you even though you have enough open spots because the team space is only two spots wide horizontally. In Gen 8, it'll allow you to put them in your team and automatically reposition them.
