Even now, they won't list Type: Null as a legendary because it hasn't been officially called a legendary by TPCi. Not to mention the Stoutland in the anime "disappearing" instead of going off and dying somewhere.
Yet they'll happily state that Kukui is the Masked Royal even though half the joke is that it's never outright stated that they're one and the same in the games. If it has been officially confirmed, they evidently forgot to cite their source.
