Well, its the best set I can think of for jolly Koko. I caught one in my initial play through of moon because I expected it to be a physical attacker... Its stats were deceiving.

Electric-type Porygon-Z finally has a coverage move against Grass-types in Signal Beam (not that it matters, unless you want to use it in VGC or Battle Competitions), Foul Play and Bounce for Pheromosa, Gunk Shot and Liquidation for Toxapex, and Fire Punch for Barafags.

Volbeat is a support Pokemon, not a sweeper.
Yes it can use a TailPass set, but if I'm using it in doubles to set up weather or tailwind and I don't want it to be total tauntbait, I can give it Lunge to 100% lower opponent's attack, U-Turn for scouting or Seismic Toss for reliable damage

Because it naturally has good Defense. What it needs is EVs given to its HP for survivability and attack to at least give it a chance. It'll naturally do well under TR.

Also why Thunder Punch?

I'm thinking about whether Dusk Lycanroc is better than Day now. Sure, Dusk has far more attacking power via Tough Claws but Day is faster and doesn't speed tie with base 110 and base 111 speed monsters

Iron head is for rocks and fairies. Thunder Punch was because I didn´t like recoil. But since I was tolk about Z-Wild Charge I have a better way to use my Jolly Koko now.

I´ve done that in the past. Still couldn´t take hits very well. Will 128 def and 128 sp.def evs make it bulkier than just making HP? I get that maxing both defenses would be better than HP if HP are already huge. But doesn´t max HP give better overall bulk than 128 evs in both defenses?

You think he picked those IVs as arbitrarily as you did? If you're making a defensive set then you figure out what moves you need to survive and how many EVs you need to invest to survive those OHKOs into 2HKOs and 2HKOs into 3HKOs. Sometimes you're better off just focusing on maxing HP and one of your defenses, like people do for Skarmory. Other times you put more thought into it. For example, here's one from Smogon's OU analysis of Ferrothorn:

>Maximum HP investment improves Ferrothorn's overall bulk, while 208 Special Defense EVs and a Careful nature ensure that Ash-Greninja's Dark Pulse does not 2HKO it.

Well the difference is smogon is creating their sets to fit into specific tiers. I don´t play CP because it´s not fun for me and do battle facilities instead. There I want to beat as much as possible and don´t focus on single treats but use good team synergy for the latter. Don´t know if that´s a good idea though. That said a lot of times copying smogon sets really just works for specific tiers. You can even see that on pokemon that use different spreads for different tiers because different tiers = different treats. In battle tree however every treat could potentially pop up.

So would you suggest using spreads for bulky battle tree mons like they are suggested in smogon and just pick the highest tier? I´m not very good at designing defensive sets. I´m much more used at crating sets for sweepers which is way easier without all the calculations...

But my definitive battle tree team for good winning strikes will not include it anyway. I´ll probably use: Blacephalon and Naganadel for sweeping and maybe Mega Mence to negate ground moves.

I would not recommend using defensive pokemon in the tree at all. with only three mons you mostly need all the coverage you can get to not get trolled to death by some gimmicky deefensive set your opponent is using. defensively allm I would watch out for is typing.you should have switch ins for all the types your lead is weak to. ideally hard counters

I think Nature's Madness should replace Iron Head as you would take less Brave Bird recoil. Life Orb would also work if you replace U-Turn with Roost and would help the damage output of a nonSTAB Brave Bird.

Thanks but, yeah I already posted my planned tree team on a post above yours. My winning-treak-team will be all offensive. But since I don´t do CP I use the tree as competitive ingame place where the CPU is actually a challenge. And most of the time I don´t care for a 100+ streak and just try out different mons I like. Sometimes they are even much better here than in CP because CPU doesn´t switch most times. Registeel for example as nearly as deadly as Celesteela in tower.

Stomping Tantrum becomes 195 BP whenever Stone Edge or a Fang move misses, or whenver Sucker Punch fails. Otherwise it's 97.5 BP (Drill Run is only 104).

I skipped Sucker Punch on this set though. Thunder fang is your strongest option against Primarina while Fire Fang is your best bet against Chesaught and Forretress

Looking at the usage stats for UU, I can't really imagine Lycanroc rising that far since half the tier gives it a really hard time, but whatever

not him, but leech life isn't going to heal a ton when you only deal mediocre damage. Since ariados is probably doing stuff like setting up webs, lunge's attack drops would support the team more and probably help ariados' longevity even more.

Get rid of the checks that doesn't allow you spam your main stab in the early game it's more beneficial for a stall breaker than anything, that set it's better for stall breaking than the CB one considering that CB Bulu doesn't beat Skarmory 1vs1 and it also avoid status thanks to the sub.
