We know that XY are happening at the "same time" of one of the 5th gen games (I don't remember if it was BW or BW2), If that's the case, then between ORAS and XY there are about 13 and 15 years, which is a lot of time, specially since I remember somewhere being mentioned that between ORAS and XY, there is a difference of 5 years (making the time period between DPP and BW of 2-4 years, unless my math is wrong)

Here's how things go.

In the first universe we have RBGY and three years later GSC

In the second universe we have FRLG and RSE (happens at the same time as RBGY). Three years later we have HGSS and DPPt (happens at the same time as GSC). 10 years later we get BW and then BW2

In the third universe we have ORAS (happens at the same time as FRLG and RSE) then 15 years later X and Y (which happen at the same time as BW2). We have no official information about Gen 7 though

Your math is off.

X/Y is indeed happening around the same time as B2/W2, but the gap between OR/AS and X/Y is closer to 10 years.

Gen 1/3 -> 3 years -> Gen 2/4 -> ??? years -> B/W -> 2 years -> B2/W2/Gen 6 -> ??? years -> Gen 7

That's the official timeline, multiverse shit not noted. This means that there is a MINIMUM of about 7 years between Gen 1 and 7, but based on text in Gen 5 and Gen 7, the timeskips between each of those are about 2 years each, putting Gen 7 at 11 years after Gen 1.

This would put OR/AS and X/Y about 9 years apart.

The only evidence that the number might be higher is throwaway dialogue from the Rocket NPC in Gen 5 that some people took to mean the timeskip had to be longer than just two years. But dialogue in Gen 7 kind of shuts that down with some dialogue from Annabel (IIRC) that condenses the timeline a bit.

Origins showed exactly what happens in the other regions in the Mega-timeline: Nothing. Red went on his Journey and everything was the same. Lore explains why Hoenn and Kalos have an abundance of Megas, so why would the rest of the gens be affected? They happen as normal in the Mage timeline.

The BW and BW2 we played took place in the Non Mega universe whilst X and Y takes place in the Mega universe. There is most likely a Kalos region without Mega Evolution and the same with BW2. Games without Mega Evolution were played in that universe and games with mega evolution were played in the one that had it. Mega Universe is a fanmade term you fucking invalid. Megas were retconned into the timeline with Gen 6, the rest of the games still happened.

Origins showed what changed in Kanto when Megas exist= Absolutely nothing. Ditto for the other gens.

Red and Blue show up in Alola exactly unchanged from where we left them. Their stories didn't change, and neither did the rest of the gens. Plasma is even referenced in X/Y, establishing X/Y's position in the timeline relevant to the previous 5 gens.

Kanto-Hoenn games -> Looker appears on Battle Resort's beach -> Looker recover his memories -> Looker backs to the job -> Looker, Nanu and another agent visit Alola for a mission, the girl ends as Guzzlord's lunch -> Looker and Nanu meet Anabel, who already was a Frontier Brain -> ten years gap -> Alola games

Once again, only ten years between Kanto-Hoenn and Alola makes no sense.

ORAS was a very minor retcon where they revealed that Hoenn also had a meteorite shower of megastones and they also had known about it locally for a while, still maintaining the idea that the rest of the regions were oblivious and unaffected by megas.

Sycamore is still the first scientist to publicly research and talk about megas though.

Actually, from what the games are implying, there are an infinite number of universes with any possible combination occuring. Every savefile is its own world. Before ORAS came along, XY easily fit in the same universe that RSE take place in and still do, just that megas remained a secret practice only recently released to the public as they originally were before ORAS made them more widespread. It's no more a retcon than fairy type, or dark or steel types, or new moves and Pokemon being introduced every gen.

Something being in a distant part of the world already makes different the entire world as a whole. DPPt-Lucas lives in the same world as RSE-Brendan, so in the world in which ORAS happened instead RSE, DPPt-Lucas never existed, it's a new Lucas who lives in the same world as ORAS-Brendan, even if you think RSE-world's Lucas and ORAS-world's Lucas are distant enough to Hoenn to living THE SAME EXACT LIVE with ZERO differences (which is also a retarded headcanon. Do you forgot butterfly effect?), they are still for different worlds so saying that DPPt happened in the ORAS world is simply wrong. A similar story happened in that world, for sure, but the concrete story we know as Diamond, or Pearl, or Platinum... these exact stories never happened in that world.

That's my point all along. The timeline is the same just with different universes. However someone still believes that BW2 happened in the same universe as X and Y. He also believes there isn't a difference between timeline and universe. It's as easy as understanding that space and time are different. In a different universe (supposing there is one) right now at the same time I might not be writing this.

This doesn't mean there is no unova or johto in the mega universe, the current universe, this just means the events we all played are slightly different in the current universe.

The opposite is true, there is a kalos and alola in the former universe that didn't have megas or fairy types.

The timeline remains the same, but the events can be different, from Rainbow Rocket we know that there are universes where baddies won or universes destroyed by ultra beasts.

The only sure thing we know is that there is more than one universe and there is more than one version of each relevant plot
