with what I've seen and heard, it still requires a bit of luck. streamer went to one with 1 and 2 rings, no shiny, but other people get shiny with the same number of rings.
It is still way easier than breeding or sos although you're limited to the pokemon that can only be encountered in the holes

But anon, there are only like 20ish normal mons available through those wormholes. It sucks.
Its only worth it for the shiny UBs and legendaries if you really want them (but at that point in the game they just sit in your box)

went through around 15 shiny wormholes (they appear pretty often after 1k lightyears) and so far have encountered 1 shiny (floatzel) so im assuming friend safari-esque odds judging by other peoples' experience? maybe better?

There's multiple types of shiny wormhole. Just having the rainbow border is slightly better than none at all. Double rainbow or supercharged double rainbow are best

I am trying to find Celesteelas and Guzzlords worlds but i keep running into Nihilegos, Pheromosas and Xurkitrees.

I figured out that the two white portals are Nihilego and Pheromosa and the portal with one ring is Xurkitree. Can anyone confirm this?

Right now i am trying to find a white portal with two rings (Celesteela?) and a white portal with two rings and the moving plasma thingy, which is most likely Guzzlord. I saw it once but i was too fast to go inside it unfortunately.

I'm pretty sure the further in you go the higher your chances at a shiny.
Though there is usually a cap for improved shiny chances.

You can definitely get multiples of the UBs (I've caught three Pheromosa) but I've heard other people say you can only get one of each of the other legendaries. I've only found UBs so far so I don't know if that's true or not.

The white portal is an example of a normal portal. In addition it will go to an ultra beast world.
Beyond that is a normal rainbow portal.

Ok i just found Celesteelas world, a little bit over 3000 and it had 2 rings. Guess that confirms my theory.

Which probably means Guzzlords world has those different rings like here >>34127201
and only comes after 4000 lightyears.

Wouldn't surprise me if it's Kartana at ~1000 lightyears and Buzzwole at ~3000, matching their catch rates, # available in SM, and that version exclusive picture which showed Pheromosa opposite Kartana and Celesteela opposite Buzzwole.

How does this even work? I went about 2.6k light years, went into a double ring rainbow shit portal but it was just a bird mon. No shiny whereas I accidentally went into a green double ring at like 2.8k and got a shiny. Is it just random?

Do we have any screenshots of one yet? I can't tell the difference between sparkles and the normal particle shit. I didn't even notice anything different on the green. Though I had been sucked into it rather than going by choice.

I think the spaces available through the holes are shuffled once in a while.

I originally found nihilego in a one-rigned hole, celesteela in a two-ringed one, and pheromose in a normal hole, now I can't find any Nihilego, normal holes still lead to Phero, one-ringed holes lead to xurkitree, two rings to celesteela.

I found a two-ringed with the fan effect that's used for legendaries but there was a regular celesteela inside. Still haven't found Guzzlord.
