Then came Inferno, and right now there's no Ice-type variation, just like a Lion-based (Luxray, Pyroar), or a Lizard-based (Heliolisk, Salazzle) Pokémon.

If a Pokémon that is frozen tries to use a Fire-type move then it will be thawed in its turn, and with a lot of Steel-types around it is common to run Fire-type coverage, so it won't be as broken as previous Gens.
