If you're playing on Citra, it's impossible.
You need to get passed it somehow using a 3DS.

You have use your 3DS to do the Photo Club shit and then when you finish it, transfer back.

If you have a 2ds you could just transfer the save and play that part then go back to Citra.
Other people have transferred their pokemon/trainer details into saves past that part.

The game assets have been in 3D since Diamond and Pearl. It's not hard to drop in a model in a 3D area.
