The new Mallow trial is one of the most disgusting and pathetic hand-holding shit i ever saw in this fucking franchise.

She has you pick from clearly visible items instead of forcing the use of Stoutland to find a patch of grass. Supposedly if you pick the right one a Pokemon won't come after you for taking it.

People thought the trials sucked, and they did. We even learned from Ohmori (or whatever Gamefreak incompetent it was) that the creation of trials had to be cobbled together from the stuff already programmed into the game at the last minute.

So USUM comes along. Great! A whole year of development to revamp these seven trials into something better.

And they actually REMOVE parts of a trial.

You can't make this shit up.

They scrambled together the trial ideas as an afterthought at the end of SM production. Don't be a Gamefreak apologist - it would've taken hardly any time to create a few interesting trials.
