For anons interested in this, you can buy these in Germany the whole year, they're usually filled with jam from fruits, but during carnival season they get way more popular. During that time all kinds of different fillings are available, like chocolate, hazelnut cream, vanilla, some sort of egg nog and even mustard to bamboozle folks. I usually avoid them because I'm not into jam and they make you fat, but if vanilla ones are available I spend whole days eating nothing but them.
