I'm a big fan of Gen 4. But that's exactly why I don't want nu-Game Freak to do anything with it. I fear that it'll suffer the same fate as ORAS, with more railroading, less elements of exploration, less Battle challenges, etc.
The one hope is that the success of the Nintendo Switch has woken them up to what players actually care about. And that they'll stop designing games for dedicated, $100+ systems around the mobile market.
