There is nothing wrong with Kanto on its own. The problem is when there's more Kanto in the games than the new region itself, like in gen 6 and 7. Gen V did Kanto pandering right by referencing it and parodying it. Gen 6 and 7 shoehorned it in.

It's not that I want to replay genwun, it's that I want a return to Kanto. I don't want the same experience, I want a new one. FRLG I didn't care for because it was basically just an update; if they made sequels to Red and Blue, with a 300-strong dex, regional Kanto forms, new paths through the region, new characters and seeing what characters are up to after a little bit of time, etc? Doesn't that sound good to you?

A new region is good. I don't mind it at all, obviously. But remakes and sequels are not bad just because you don't want them.

Also, it has nothing to do with nostalgia.

I have little faith in GF to make a remake of red/blue good
My biggest hopes are for a reverse gold/silver where you start in kanto and go though johto, and have another villian arc in johto

I'm not sure how I feel. On the one hand Kanto doesn't really have a character. Unless you count a bunch of mishaps with MAD SCIENCE to be character. But on the other hand it could be a good time to introduce some things unique to Kanto. But that won't happen

FRLG Kanto is pretty much perfect, only missing the physical/special split.

I'd have to see how they handle Kanto. If they expand it without butchering it I'd be fine with it. If they leave it as is or worse, add a bunch of disparate elements that don't fit I will rage with the fury of 1000 suns

We've already been to Kanto many of times, and we've had gen 1 mons shoved down in our throats in the newer games making them even more boring. The regional was the way to make gen1 mons feel new, but they butchered the idea by not including more formes for it.

When will these Kantofags stop with the nostalgia butchering GF's decisions?
