These scrap events would be cool (call them something like "Medal Events" here) where each item you purchase has a code card in it (which we already have in the US TCG sets) that gives you one "medal". Its the exact same process as the scrap event in Japan...its not that hard even.
But nope, they'll either dump this as a random ass event to a store or not at all.
