Gyms, even if its post-game and is still "in the process" of being complete, like each gym is just a shell of what it has yet to become but the gym leader allows you to have an honorary battle because you're the champion.

I think something like this would be almost enough to make some people happy.

Reverse the way you progress through an island/route. All it requires is moving trainers and setting up different road blocks. Still gives the illusion of a new game/fresh experience. Hell I might even settle for giving the player a new starting area like in BW2. Also, E4 aren't trial captains or kahuna's.

USUM is SM2.
The storyline takes place AFTER SM.
You're a new trainer challenging the new builded gyms.
Gym leaders are the trial leaders.

Necrozma plot is the same but Megalopolis is an actual city with people in it. Lillie isn't in the game except during the necrozma climax where she appears

New Aether said they created Type:Null to fight Necrozma.

They give you one and it has a new "arceus-like" form usable with a Z-move to fight Ultra necrozma

You can use your SM save just like in BW1 to make your trainer being mentioned as the ancient Champion, which actually got out to explore more regions. It is implied someone else is the Champion now.

Nanu is in the Elite 4, and his story is a little expanded.

Champion is Gladion or Hau but a little more mature (just like Tcheren design change)

Main villain challenges you to a Pokémon battle early, shoots you if you're dumb enough to accept. All villain team members are ruthless and effective, ganging up on you and attacking the trainer whenever possible. There are only a few of them, though, and they're fought several times.

Just BW2-ify Sun and Moon. Add a few more locations, maybe a new island or something. Make the plot actually significantly different too. Mix up the mons you can find in game, maybe put mons in that weren't in the original's pokedex. Which reminds me, ADD THE FUCKING NATIONAL POKEDEX.
The post game could be a Battle Frontier styled thing except they're actually Gyms complete with puzzles and badges.
