The thing about Alolan forms, you harbinger of autism, is that they are separate creatures. Alolan forms have different designs, different types and they are permanent. Alolan forms are new species that have appeared after a certain species being forced to evolve in a different habitat in order to adapt and survive. Megas are just the same pokemon but bigger, heck, even the few megas that get a new type don't change radically of typing like Alolan forms, they get that type added or one replaced
