That's not really saying much seeing as Steel-type was almost definitely just stuck on Lucario so it would have a more unique typing with no regard for whether or not it made sense.

How does that stop it from being part Fighting? Electric/Fighting is unique as well and is a MYTHICAL on top of that. They dropped the ball hard.

As disappointed as I am by that, I'm pretty sure Xurkitree is way better off with only 1 weakness. A fast Pokemon like Zeraora could definitely use an extra STAB, though.

my guess is that they don't want to run through all their unique typings. If pokemon goes on for another 20+ years they probably want to only implement a few unique typings every gen from now on. That being said it's totally stupid

Cats should never ever be weak to Flying types. What cat is weak to birds?

Heck, this legend cat seems to be the natural predator of all electric rodents with it's ability to turn normal attacks into delicious food (assuming I'm right in remembering this cat has volt absorb or something similar).

Being even potentially weak to flying with Soak or something would ruin that concept.

That being said it would be cheeky to have a cat lose it's edge by drenching it with water.

2 type limit. Xurkitree doesn't have a secondary typing taking up a type slot. But as mentioned above, it's better off as pure Electric due to bad Speed and bulk.

Holy fuck it makes sense now. And the funny thing is, it would still make sense without putting the Kaguya-Hime inspiration into account. The folktale only makes fusing a rocket with bamboo more interesting and less forced.

What I don't get his why turn plasma fist normal type moves to electric type when he doesn't even have any strong normal type moves. Him being pure electric is fine I feel like if he was on all 4's then no one would bitch about it but that would just copy raikou, so him being bipedal is good.

Plus fighting is not needed because that would just add another weakness to fairy and psychic and Lele would just shut him down then

Plasma Fist is a move, not ability. It causes the other Pokemon's moves to become Electric, not its own.

So any normal-type attack leveled at Zeraora becomes Electric which in turn heals him.
