Do you ever use legendary pokemon in the story mode? I always have a full team I like by the time I get one and never add them to the team.

Depends if anyone on my team is expendable. In Moon, I wasn’t crazy about my Oranguru, so I felt okay with subbing in Lunala. If I’d already had a team of six I was happy with, I might not have.

well yeah, why wouldn't I, I don't PvP battle and they're onlyu going to sit in the box or bank otherwise. Legendary 'mons deserve as much care, training and friendship as the next pokémon.

but I never use the legendary mons, they seem like kind of a crutch, I consider them more trophies. but I'm thinking of doing a run pretty soon with a legendary-only team, that would be fun.

I used to use one per playthrough, because filling your party with gods felt invalidating to the rest of the mons, but when story or luck ran me into a fateful encounter it felt cool to integrate into that story. So I'd use Zapdos in Blue, Suicune in Crystal, Groudon in Ruby.
Now though I avoid them altogether, they're more like trophies for the shelf. It's more engaging to use weaker pokemon and learn how to use them than to steamroll with godmode.

I only really use them if I really like the design or don't like enough of the regions other pokemon and need it to fill a gap. I don't really care about them being overpowered as my teams generally tend to be full of PU and RU shitmons anyway.

I used Zydoge because it's cute, and its BST is low enough to be like a regular Pokemon. It's not overpowered.

It feels weird using a legendary. I got that I caught it myself and I'm the region's hero, but it sort of feels like I have an unfair advantage and I'm too overpowered.

Autism prevented me from doing this from Platinum until very recently, but I was playing OR and I found out about the hoops portals and I got a Ho-Oh, and since I love it so much I decided to add it to the team.

And in Diamond I totally used Darkrai, Giratina, and Dialga.

Only 600BST legendaries. I'll use box legendaries for catching because they're usually tanky as shit, but when taking on the E4/champ, I never use box legendaries.

Never used legendarys always felt cheesey with the exception of raikou in gold/silver . However for USUM I actually want to use the solago/necrozma fusion . It's a typing I need on my team and he actually looks cool

Aside from a couple of times where I randomly threw the cover legendary into my team for a bit after catching it, the only time thus far I've actually planned to use a legendary from the start was Zapdos in a FireRed run. I don't like using Uber legends in my team in general.

Yes. Moltres in red, Zapdos in yellow. Then kyorge in Sapphire. Used zekrom in white and Xerneas in X. Solgaleo in sun was awesome to face topu Koko with since they were rivals or something.

Yes, but I compensate by Nuzlocking on my first (and usually only) playthrough up until postgame. Except for ORAS since Primal Groudon is just too much.

For BW2, I actually used that event Lv15 Genesect as my starter. For some reason I got in my head that he had a Canti-like vibe to him, and that his Techno Blast was a similar signature move, so I finished off all important enemies with it. Until he died to Ghetsis at least.

Yes, but it is mainly only the box art legends I keep. However since in the Ultra games the normal mode battles in the Battle Tree let us use anything including banned legendaries, and they're lvs aren't set to 50, I will start making Legendary teams for it. Also what else am I gonna do with Groudon, Kyurem, Solgaleo, etc? I don't care for Battle Spot ever since people kept bringing Darkrai, Arceus, and other bullshit events, so really. What else will I do with them? Of course I only put the box art one so that my team is still fair. In the gen 5 games Cynthia would OKO my Kyurem, who is the same lv as her Garchomp, with Dragon Rush.
